What are character classes?
Your character's class is essentially what sort of lifestyle/role they have. Each have their own perks, missions, and quests they can get.
The following classes are available for player characters:
-Warrior (Guard/Warrior/Fighter)
-Tracker (Scout/Hunter)
-Sage (Sorcerer/Battle-Mage/Medic)
-Healer (Shaman/Physician/Herbalist)
In the ()'s is more or less suggestions on how you can play with such a character, but also what sort of quests and missions you can expect with that class.
Your character's class cannot be changed!
Unless under special circumstances, class is essentially permanent. (There are rare items that can allow you to change your class.) You get to choose their first one at creation(for bred characters, upon reaching adulthood they get to choose their class), however.
Below is more info on each!
Warrior Class
As a warrior, the safety of your clan rest on your shoulders, even in the simplest of tasks. Ketio have an old code among their more elite warriors, "Stand guard till you can no longer stand, and keep standing. Keep fighting until you can fight no more, and keep fighting. Patrol until your paws bleed, and keep patrolling. If you don't, lives may be lost." It's a tough life, and is the reason most Ket don't live into old age. It is, however, a very honorable path to follow.
With a warrior character you can expect the following types of missions or quests:
-Guard duty related missions/quests.
-Sparring missions. (1x1 short RP mission you can do with another warrior character or NPC. Uses dice roll.)
-Patrol missions/quests.
-"Defeat the enemy/kill the monster" sort of quests. Will take your character through a quest to find and eliminate a threat against your clan.
Tracker Class
Trackers, or Hunters, are as it sounds. They hunt and track prey, as well as act as scouts or even spies for their clan. They have to be pretty sneaky, strong enough to take down prey, and of course have a bit of charm to get out of sticky situations. Most just provide food for the clan, living a fairly quite life. It's only the truly daring Trackers who take on scouting missions.
What to except with missions/quests:
-Hunting missions/quests
-Fishing missions (A quick mission where your character goes down to the lake, and a dice roll decides the number of fish they caught. You get around 3 tek per fish caught.)
-Tracking missions/quests.
-Spy/Scouting quests. (Riskier/more likely to fail than others. Remember, you're no warrior!)
Sage Class
Sages are a rather varied type of character. A bit of a warrior, a bit of a healer, they must find the perfect balance of the two in order to fulfill their duties! Most sages act as assistants to the healers, while also often helping the clan teach cubs about the history and culture of Ket. At the same time, they sometimes join warriors on patrols or the battlefield in order to act as a field medic.
Ketep(and Ketahori/Ketahori-Eit) Sages can learn magic from certain quests and NPCs. Other races are incapable of using spells! Ketep sages can then instead pretty much be sorcerers and battle-mages!
What to expect with missions/quests:
-Patrol missions/quests. (Only slightly different from warrior ones.)
-Story Telling missions (Tell a story to a cub!)
-Herb collecting missions/quests.
-"Errand running" quests. (Trust me, they're more entertaining then they sound XD)
-Ketep only: Magic related quests and missions.
Healer Class
Healers are responsible for the health of the clan, but are also often skilled in methods of harming another as well as healing. Healers must master the art of crafting both cures and poisons for the good of the clan. They must know what is helpful and what is harmful, and put them to use in tending to the wounded and sick. They train for many years in order to be sure of their skills, too.
What to expect with missions/quests:
-Testing knowledge missions/quests.
-Herb/Ingredient collecting
-Sorting missions/quests.
-"Treat the patient" sort of quests. (You'll have to use your knowledge as a healer to treat a NPC who is either sick or injured, and get the supplies to do it.)
