After asking around a bit, you finally learn about a place where you can pray to the gods of old. Etahoro himself seems to know where it is, so you approach him one day and ask him.
"The gods don't listen to mortals anymore," he tells you, trying to brush the question off. You insist you wish to know if there's such a place anyway. "If you truly must know, there is one place you can go," he says, giving in. "Follow the flow of the stream east of the Gathering Field, keep following it till it drains into a lake. On the southern edge of the lake, you'll find the place. We've gone to calling it Sorrow's End." There's a tremendous amount of grief in his voice when he speaks the name of the place.
And so, you follow the path he told you of. You find it not well walked and unmarked. The forest the stream takes you through seems strangely quiet, with only a few birds singing and the sound of the water to keep you company. Along the stream bed you find some rather beautiful looking flowers, and decide they might make a decent enough offering, taking some along with you. At last, with already a good part of the day gone, the forest opens up to the lake edge. By the time you reach the southern edge, the sun has started setting, and you partially wonder why the clans made a place of prayer so far away.
Half expecting a temple, or at least a grand shrine, you find the place mostly simple. All you find is an alcove carved into a cliff that rises over the lakeside. Inside, a moderately sized statue of a woman, obviously crafted with magic instead of physical tools. The woman appears to be crying, and at her feet is a strange dog that appears to have the back legs of a goat. You drop the flowers, realizing what this shrine is of. Above the alcove, written in Ancient Tongue, it says "In memory of those lost and those forgotten." The statue is of Sorrow, Etahoro's sister who was killed in the Dark War, goddess of those in mourning. At her feet is Etahoro, who was her protector and guardian, as an older depiction of him. Its clear now why he was reluctant to speak of this place. He made it in memorial of his beloved sister.
Still, having come all this way, you decide you should at least pay your respects, and after offering prayers, despite how insistent Etahoro was that the gods don't listen anymore, you find a place to spend the night not far from the alcove. Maybe, just maybe, the gods will have heard your request.
----------------------------------------------------
Here, at Sorrow's End, your characters can leave prayers or requests for the gods of old, who despite Etahoro saying they won't hear these requests, it is just possible, they might.
If they do, and find favor in your character, they might reward you with a rare or special gift...
To try for the chance of being rewarded, just reply to this thread in character of them praying or making an offering(we'll just assume you brought something other than those flowers XD), and a staff member will come along and reply whether or not there was any response from the gods.
