Hybrids are rare, even among the Ket of Utur-Vyta, but not unheard of here. Still, there's complications with the cubs that there aren't for non-hybrid cubs.
First off, to even get a approved breeding request you must have a Hybrid Breeding Token, which costs 1000 tek, twice as much as the standard token. From there, rules and regulations apply to the parents. Only the following hybrid crossings are available!
1st Gen hybrid rules:
-Only Capareon Ketio can breed with Ketep and Ketzateri. (Snow/Southern/Tundra Ketio are too massive.)
--In said crossings, the female must be the Ketio. Even with Capar. Ketio being closer in size to the other two Ket species, cubs may be too large for a Ketep or Ketzateri female to bring to term.
-Ketep and Ketzateri have much less restriction on the parents, as it can work either way due to similar enough size.
2nd Gen/Beyond Rules
-"Leopons" can cross freely with all Ketio races.
--They, however, can only cross with Ketzateri if the father is Ketzateri, not the mother. Again, size complications.
-Ketio/Ketzateri, can cross with Ketio or Ketep, but for Ketzateri, same rule applies as with their parents, as the cubs are closer to the Ketio than the Ketzateri. (Ketzateri have something similar with how ligers end up bigger than both parents, as the Ketio females lack a size limiting gene, but Ketzateri females have one. So, the Ketio/Ketzateri ends up close to their Ketio mother's size.)
Running the Gauntlet
Hybrid cubs must run a gauntlet of chances and to even be born! There is an item that can protect the litter, which you can find in the breeding items shop Kelda has. You'll need to buy the one specifically for hybrids.
First off, different crossing will have to run through different chance rolls to see if the cub makes it or not. Chances are rolled for each cub individually, so while one cub might not make it, another may get by complication free. You will be immediately informed after request is approved and the chances are rolled if any cubs didn't make it. Its sad, but this is the harsh reality of life. It also makes hybrids cubs rather valuable, seeing as you first off had to pay more for the breeding, and that doesn't guarantee the cubs will make it or not.
Ketio crossings are the most difficult, because of the mother's toxins in her blood. While all Ket have a slight immunity towards Ketio toxins, it is weaker in the other two species. Ketio cubs develop their immunity in the womb, whereas the other species develop it after a few months old. Ketio hybrids have to go through a D10 roll(this is what the on-site dice roll feature is for namely) to see if the cub can develop this in the womb, otherwise the cub will die from their mother's own defense systems. Cub must get a 6 or higher to survive to birth.
2nd(/3rd/4th/etc) generation or more Ketio cubs will need only a 4 or higher, seeing as their hybrid parents does have the immunity themselves, but there's still a risk of the cub not forming it in the womb.
Then each cub must go through an odd/even roll, and get even, otherwise they'll be stillborn due to other complications.
Ketzateri/Ketep crossings are a little less risky with the complications, but there is still complications. Stillborn cubs are common, and cubs from these crossing must hit an even roll on a dice in order to be born alive.
Now, even after the birth, things can be risky for the newborns. Each cub must run a roll of a D10, and if it lands on a predetermined number, the cub will die(this is actually true for all cubs, hybrids or not).
Again, you can purchase an item to protect cubs from the mercy of the dice rolls, however, allowing them to be born without complications or risk!
Note! Nive's gift will protect hybrids from the "gauntlet" as well as normal cubs from all chances of random death.
