Talon Wing, or just Talon as he prefers, like Etahoro his uncle, has a divine past, but unlike mighty and loving Etahoro, he didn't loose it to in a selfless manner. No, he made a fool of himself and lost it in a bet with the fallen god Hunger. Because of the shame of this story, he doesn't speak of his past much, but here is all that is known of this once god of the harvest and lord of Autumn.
God of the Harvest
Talon Wing was born to Florilla, goddess of Spring, and her husband, Magni, the god of Truth and younger brother of Etahoro. He, possibly the youngest of all the divine beings, desired a purpose, and so he was given the task and power over the harvest, a responsibility he saw little value in. He was not the only god of the harvest, however, at least to some mortals.
Those followed the way of the fallen gods, saw Hunger, Agnar's younger brother, as the god of the harvest, and that it was he who truly had power over times of famine and times of prosperity. Hunger saw Talon's lack of interest in this rather important task as a chance to obtain true respect among the gods. Hunger approached Talon one day, and proposed a challenge, and whichever one of them won would be the one declared the true god of the harvest. Various versions of the legend exist, each telling of a different kind of challenge. The end results stay the same, however.
Talon lost the bet, and in doing so, lost his divine status. Its said many of his family turned away from him after this, ashamed of him and his inability to have seen the true value he was given, as he threw it away out of shear boredom. Only his mother, sweet Florilla would still speak to him.
Lord of Autumn
Having lost his divine status, but not his divinity, Talon, to spite Hunger's new status, used his power remaining to influence the harvest season, making it shorter, and hastening the arrival of Albus' hold over the lands. He made it so that the trees leaves grew colors of red, yellow, and brown, falling to the ground. Plants would die or go dormant for the cold months, and not come alive until Florilla beckoned them to. This harvest season would soon be called Autumn.
Because he did this in spitefulness, however, the gods did not fully approve of this "Autumn". Talon would later be punished for his actions, and was made mortal*. At last did he finally see his mistakes, and was remorseful for them. He would spend centuries wandering the wilds of Terra Fera, helping those in need he ever came across, hoping one day his deeds might be enough for the gods to restore his power and status. That day never came, however.
(*Once again, its important to note that by "mortal" here, his immortality was not taken from him. He simply lost any powers he once had and his connection to the gods.)
Lord of the Ketio
Here in Utur-Vyta, Talon came after Etahoro reached out to his nephew. Talon had chosen the Ketio as his physical form, and with a growing number of Ketio finding their way to this land of peace, Etahoro needed someone to lead them, someone to guide them. He knew Talon's long for purpose was still etched into his being, so knew the once arrogant, now kind former god would gladly take up the opportunity.
And so, Talon Wing is now ruler of Utur-Vyta's Ketio population, keeping them in check when troubles stir.
